Will COPs ever offer low emissions agriculture food?

About the event

After 3 years of working with the agroecological food distribution network in Belém, second biggest amazonian capital, we have observed that the low-carbon food market relies on the resilience of small NGOs, which struggle to achieve a larger scale. With the announcement of the city hosting COP 30, there is an opportunity for coordination to transform Belém into an agroecological capital, where: pesticide-free foods prevail over conventional ones; the city is supplied by short supply chains; the gap between the city and the countryside is reduced through urban agriculture; quality food is a right for all; the circulation of products and values is solidarity-based and inclusive; local food culture is celebrated and defended; and traditional communities and knowledge are preserved and respected. Let’s build it together.
