CGIAR and the World Food Programme (WFP) will launch a new partnership that will support food systems innovators in fragile contexts (Nigeria, Mozambique, Yemen, Jordan) through science-driven entrepreneurship support and invite public and private stakeholders to collaborate, with the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB). CGIAR and the World Food Programme (WFP) will launch a new partnership that will support food systems innovators in fragile contexts (Nigeria, Mozambique, Yemen, Jordan) through science-driven entrepreneurship support and invite public and private stakeholders to collaborate, with the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB). This session will:
• Highlight and break down systemic issues surrounding access to finance for green entrepreneurship in Africa
• Showcase solutions from the development finance, the agricultural research and the humanitarian sector to catalyze investments into African food, land and water systems
• Increase awareness of the massive potential of cross-sectoral collaboration between finance, research and entrepreneurship to identify and develop scalable green solutions, and monitor the sustainability of these solutions
• Convene audience members from different sectors to identify common goals and to foster collective action
