Rising tides, rising voices: Addressing climate vulnerability in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in IFAD13 – IFAD’s Thirteenth Replenishment Cycle (2025–2027)
About the event
This event is a compelling call to support Small Island Developing States (SIDS), those disproportionately impacted by the harsh realities of climate change, which range from rising sea levels to the increasing occurrence of extreme climate events. Among the hardest hit are the small-scale farmers and producers, who find themselves at the frontline of climate challenges. They are in pressing need of accessible climate finance to innovate and adapt their production methods, ensuring food security in the face of an unpredictable climate.
Leveraging IFAD’s deepened commitments to double its impact on the ground as well as enhanced role as a catalyst of climate and innovative finance, this high-level event will bring together leaders and high-level representatives from SIDS and donor countries to discuss the challenges and opportunities for building resilience and adaptation to climate change in SIDS. Together, we explore strategies for bolstering resilience and adaptation, when they are needed most, with a particular emphasis on the ongoing IFAD Thirteenth Replenishment (IFAD13). Be part of this pivotal conversation to rally support for SIDS in their climate endeavors.
