About the event
The event will focus on digital solutions for climate-smart agriculture. IFAD will showcase digital tools such as mobile applications, geographic information systems (GIS), precision agriculture, and earth observation data analysis, and highlight their role in promoting climate resilience among smallholder farmers.
The first part of the event will present the following three examples of how digital and geospatial technologies are applied in IFAD-funded projects:
- Measuring the impacts of afforestation and terracing in Türkiye
- Precision agriculture in Kenya
- Mobile based advisory services in Zambia
In the second part of the event, a distinguished panel will discuss the scale and challenges of digital transformation. Experts, policy makers and the private sector will explore the transformative power of digital innovation in agriculture.
With a focus on empowering farmers with real-time information, market access, advisory services and financial services, IFAD underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in building a resilient and food-secure future for communities worldwide.
