Analyzing global commitments on food security and diets

About the event

Progress against food insecurity and poor diet quality has stalled. Governments across the world have made commitments to actions that address food insecurity and poor diets in numerous settings; however, what remains uncertain, is which commitments are most salient towards achieving SDG2. Within this context, IFPRI and the Rockefeller Foundation seek to galvanize action toward achieving SDG2 by taking stock of these commitments and assessing whether they are fit for purpose given current challenges around food security and diets and anticipated future scenarios under different conditions. We are eager to engage a diverse group of experts at the Food and Agriculture Pavilion. The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference is an important milestone for dialogue in the context of this overall project. Insights from the panel event will shape the final recommendations and support the development of advocacy asks around SDG2 as the world looks from the mid-point of the SDGs towards 2030.
