Role of youth in capacity building and policymaking for climate action in the Global South

About the event

The youth represent critical actors in delivering the objectives of the Paris Agreement, whether that be in reducing greenhouse gas emissions or supporting their communities in coping with the impacts of the changing climate. Therefore, this event will highlight the importance of youth action in addressing the climate change agenda in the global south, specifically focusing on the MENA region and Latin America. Various ways in which young people can influence policies and mobilize youth networks to contribute significantly to climate action will be explored. This event will serve as a platform to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices, as well as to foster collaboration among young activists and scientists, community leaders, and policymakers.
